Last days!

Welcome back after our extended Christmas break! Things got a little hectic around Christmas time and we have had two of our members go away on an art junket!

Here's the deal we have six pieces left, Frozen Lobster days 25-30. I will be posting day 25 at a later date as it may not be available at this stage and for the rest (26-30) we will be posting two pieces per day to speed up the end of the exhibition so we can get pieces out to those who have already purchased something.

This will be your last chance to get yourself a Cloak & Dagger artwork for the starting price of $19, after the exhibition will be offering unsold pieces for a higher price.

'Frozen Lobster collection'

'30 pieces in 30 days' is an Art project from the artist collective known as 'Cloak & Dagger'.
The members of the group met up for collaborative art sessions to put together their first official collection of work.
Each member would start working on a piece of 5" x 7" cotton rag paper and then pass it onto the next artist to continue working on it. The end result was an interesting blend of the artists styles and visions that came together in a harmonious whole.
The collection of work is called 'Frozen Lobster' and comprises of 30 pieces of unique and original artworks. Therefore each day a new piece will be shown and offered for sale, starting with 'Frozen lobster - day 1', 'Frozen Lobster - day 2' and so on.

Each piece will be offered on eBay for 5 days starting at only $19. Be sure to bid early on in the exhibition, before the word gets around and you have to compete with other bidders for a piece.

Each piece is a unique creation combing mixed media including acrylic paint, crayons, oil pastels and even stamps! Artwork is shipped in a protective plastic slip with card board backing and is sent in a heavy duty card package. Stamped an numbered on the back for authenticity.

Introduction

Cloak and Dagger is an Art collective comprised of three friends. They decided that by combining their mutual powers of creativity that they could achieve world domination and perhaps make some interesting Art in the process.

The collective was suggested in late 2008 over a few beers at a BBQ and was received by all members positively. It was decided that each member had a unique set of skills that complimented each others skills, and a range of group projects were arranged.

C&D started off small, making a few badges and some collaborative Artworks. As the year progressed each of its members were inundated with other work and Artistic collaboration sessions faded away. To counteract this negative trend it was decided that the members should convene at lunch time on the Thursday of every week for quiche and chocolate milk, these meetings were subsequently referred to as 'The Thursday special'. No artworks as such were produced but much pastry and jokes were had.

The members of C&D successfully finished the year with their own separate art exhibitions and were finally able to meet again to formulate ideas. It was decided that after the year of stops and starts that the members of C&D would get together for a few intense collaborative art sessions and produce 30 pieces of artwork and hold an online exhibition (conveniently just in time for Christmas).

This collaboration session has been successful and the exhibition will launch on the 30th of November 2009. More details to come.
